Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is an important salt lake distribution area of China, those Salt Lakes are mainly distributed in the Qaidam Basin of Qinghai and Chang Tang Plateau of Tibet, with three characteristics: focus on zonal distribution, huge reserves of resources and symbiotic special resources. salt sakes of Qinghai are overall rich in potassium, magnesium, boron, lithium, sodium, and are named potassium-magnesium salt lake; while salt lakes of Tibet are rich in boron, lithium, cesium, and are named special salt lake. These salt lakes are of a multi-derived sources of minerals, potassium, magnesium, sodium, mainly from surface from weathering and leaching, while the specific components of boron, lithium, cesium, mainly from deep magma remelting, and was taken out of the springs to the surface. These useful components in the highland lakes along with the evaporative concentration and enrichment of the lakes became specialty salt lake deposits in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. |
