      Hydrous magnesium oxysulfate whisker is a new type of fibroid material used as flame retardants and reiforcers.In this paper,their characteristics and properties,method of preparations and applications were reviewed in detail.It was pointed out that promoting its applied fundamental research was an important way to boost the comprehensive utilization of magnesium resources.
